Spotted in Cowes’ pedestrianised High Street – one very lost Irish Quarter Tonner. Only the Irish could end up towing their boat all the way down the full length of the High Street as they tried to find Cowes Yacht Haven! The team blames it on the GPS but we can’t help but wonder if this is an entirely fair allocation of blame…. Apparently there was a fair bit of backing and filling involved to get round the bends but they made it and the Cowes traders are just grateful that they missed all their various signs whilst the Cowes Business Association is thankful that the Union Jack bunting put up specially for the Queen’s jubilee is still in tact. If anyone has any photographic evidence of this unusual and highly technical approach to arriving at CYH please send it into our Press Officer at fiona.brown@fionabrown.com
