A Day Of Fun Instead Of Racing

The Coutts Quarter Ton fleet might not have been able to race today but that hasn’t stopped them having fun.

Amongst the various diversions for the fleet today were the celebrations for Rickards Mellander’s birthday. Rick and the crew of Alice enjoyed a slap up seafood lunch to compensate for the lack of racing. Happy Birthday Rickard.

Tonight everyone is gathering at the RORC/RCYC clubhouse for a BBQ.

Please note that the new entrants for 2015 were celebrated with a bottle of the famous Rum Jungle with the cap removed by Louise Moreton – not as per your report MG !

Hi Hugh – I am so sorry about the error in last night’s release. I was delayed getting here on Tuesday night due to the weather and a small issue with the RIB and missed being at the welcome party in person, and when I chatted with someone for the update they clearly had a slip of the tongue. I have put the text right on our own website and of course will make sure the same mistake doesn’t happen again.

I am contacting key external websites who carried the story to ask them to make a correction and in tonight’s release I will issue a correction and apology and make sure that we include appropriate mention of Rum Jungle Rum in the editorial. I am also going to post something on the blog today (I’ll wait until a few more people are up and about before I do it) to correct the mistake and again give profile to Rum Jungle Rum.

Please accept my apologies for this error and rest assured I will do everything I can to make up for it in our coverage over the next couple of days.
      Fi
